Ambiance – 4.5/5 | Food – 4/5 | Service – 5/5
Have you ever imagined to step on the moon and come back on earth? Well my experience at OTM tasting session was similar or maybe a little over the moon.
When a friend of mine approached me to try out the newest brewery in town, I was not only excited but also eager as I was quite frequent with the brand OTM during my stay in Madhapur above Daspalla hotel.
We arrived a little late, around 8ish. Gopal Thakur, welcomed us with warmth and instructed the waitstaff to get us seated at OsHo (restaurant of OTM Brewery). It’s located on the first floor above the brewery. A huge 80 seater place well spaced and artistically decorated. The place is given a heritage look with use of mosaic floor and one side of the wall decorated with heritage style wooden doors and windows with Belgium glass work.
They have mix of long tables for bigger crowd and smaller ones if you are out for a romantic date. So after settling down on a big table we were offered to look at the menu. Trust me, the menu has everything you can ask from. I would at least need couple of years to complete the menu, if not more. The service staffs are pretty agile and on their toes to serve the guests. Freshly brewed beer samplers were offered to us. They currently brew 4 varieties of beer available as a pint or a pitcher. They have around 3 type menu cards with plenty of options to order.
As we sipped on the samplers, we were served with our starters which had variety of Lotus stem crackers, Chilli Cheese Burst chicken poppers, Basil Murgh tikka, Peri-peri prawns, Three cheese mushroom, Bhuna pyaz ki tangdi.
If I had to pick the best of these, I would recommend the chicken poppers and the peri-peri prawn which were a little different preparation from other places already serving. Off course the veggies would be delighted with the cheesy mushroom. The range of cocktails were served to us to cool down while we got all gorged up with the appetizers. The brand OTM is famed for it’s alcoholic beverages and it was no different. Each of the cocktails were interesting and uniquely presented.
They have also set up a food truck inside the premises which is serving variety of fast eats. We were tempted to order Kothu Parotta with egg gravy & Anda Kheema from their menu.
While sipping on our cocktails, couple of Pizza were served. A square base with thin crust topped with veggies & paneer loaded with cheese. The crunchy base and soft toppings made it an interesting eat.
We are 3/4th full by now but by that time the main courses started coming out of the kitchen. We had almost one item from each section of their menu. From the Italian section, we had Non-veg Fettuccini with basil pesto cream. Moving South East of Asia we tried the Vietnamese non-veg rice bowl moving inside the North of India, we tried the Awadhi nalli gosht and Kadhi Pakodi. To satiate my bong heart, they offered me their version of Bengali Macher Jhol & Prawn Malai Curry. My pick was Vietnamese Rice Bowl & Nalli Gosht. The fish curry could not make me happy due to use of Basa which spoils the basic essence of the dish. However, a point to mention, the gravy tasted super yummy which was the same for the prawns too and acted as the saving grace.
We were so full that any extra morsel would have landed us on stretcher to be carried to our vehicle. However, Gopal insisted, “Kuch Meetha Ho Jaye” and he took the authority to order some Baileys shahi tukda & Biscuit cake with Baileys fo us. It would have been a great miss as the shahi tukda tasted heavenly with the hint of Baileys Irish Cream. That was it and we had to insist on a curtain call.
Though we were seated at OsHo restaurant in the first floor, The brewery at the ground floor was flocked by the working professionals during the evening. They have live band and music playing while you put the dancing shoes on.
Apart from A La Carte, they have awesome Lunch Buffet (550 AI) & Lunch platters (300 AI) available in Hyderabad. The buffet is absolute VFM with variety and quality both being offered at a remarkable price. I have become a fan of their platters since then which is not only filling but also ‘taste mein best’. The list of meals available on platter is pretty planned from every cuisine to ensure nobody misses out. Been almost 4-5 times to OTM just to try their platter.
I would give full points to the management for the effort to create something different and also consistently providing a great service for food lovers in this part of the city.
